Question: Since the contest starts April 12, do we wait until then to start making the music, or is that the first date submissions will be allowed? I've never participated in a contest before, and am unsure of the rules.
April 12 is the day you can start making music for the contest. I realize there's not really a way to verify that absolutely well, but...yeah, ideally, you're supposed to work on your compositions within the submissions window. It might be worth looking at the art portal now to consider which pieces of art you'd be interested in making your inspiration. You can pick the art beforehand, but don't start working on the music until the submissions thread is posted.

The rules will be posted in the submissions thread, hopefully at some time tomorrow morning PST (~9 hours from now). I’ll drop a link in this news post and the link on the front page will change to the submissions thread once the contest begins.
